In some case young girls are able to remain at home in the care of their families but still demand services to successfully and fully heal from sexual exploitation and abuse. In these cases, we have our Community Based Care Program that exists to serve and meet the needs of these children right where they’re at. It is only safe for a survivor to remain at home if her perpetrator has been arrested and she is not longer at risk, and every case is thoroughly assessed for this reason. Through our Community Based Care Program every survivor is afforded access to counseling, social work support, and education services for her and her family.
We welcomed our first survivor into our program in the fall of 2017 and are excited for the impactful ways we may come against all threats leading to further abuse or trafficking, and work to holistically heal survivors right where they’re at in their homes and communities.
